ELVITEN
Electrified L – category Vehicles Integrated into Transport and Electricity Networks
In a global and systematic way, The ELVITEN project addresses the study of critical issues and barriers that still exist regarding the full deployment and use of electric vehicles (EL-Vs) in urban areas by people who travel occasionally, regular commuters and delivery companies.
The project will examine and test new usage patterns and solutions capable of encouraging the use of electric vehicles, both owned and shared.
In particular, the charging points (CPs) that are already available in the involved cities in the demonstration phase of the project will be integrated into an ICT platform specifically designed to enable users to manage charging independently of the electricity operator.

Role
A sustainable business model
The designed platform will support the following functions: intermediation and booking services for EL-Vs and CPs; EL-Vs fleet management services and mobile driving support applications; Serious Games and a loyalty card.
The demonstration phase will take place in the cities of Rome, Berlin, Genoa, Bari, Malaga and Trikala, will last 12 months, will involve 383 El-Vs and will entail the deployment of incentive policies and EL-Vs sharing services.
This trial period will allow the collection of a significant set of descriptive data of travel routes, users’ experiences and opinions regarding the use of the service and will ultimately aim at understanding the reality of transportation and use patterns of EL-Vs.
At the end of the trial, a cost-benefit analysis of the interventions necessary for the full adoption of the tested solutions will be conducted. This will suggest sustainable business models for sharing, renting, parking and charging EL-Vs and the diffusion of ICT systems to support.
T BRIDGE will be responsible for the coordination and development of the activities of the WP aimed at developing the ICT Platform and Tools.
Furthermore, TBRIDGE will contribute to the definition of the Demonstration methodology and the implementation of the pilot experimentation in the city of Genoa.
