Advanced Services for a more effective and efficient integrated clinical management of heart failure and its main comorbidities
Heart Failure (HF) is a highly prevalent pathology, which affects 2-3% of the population in Western countries and this percentage is destined to grow further in the near future.
In Italy, the analysis of hospital admissions shows that DRG 127 (heart failure and shock) represents the first cause of hospital admission after natural birth; furthermore, the average hospital stay of approximately 10 days and the frequency of re-hospitalisations identify this pathology as one capable of absorbing a significant amount of National Healthcare System resources.

Role
ICT technologies for the protection of patients
The Heartdrive project aims, through the innovative use of ICT technologies, to improve the follow-up phase of patients with chronic heart failure (both diastolic and systolic), supporting the following fundamental aspects:
- Creation of the therapeutic alliance between patient, doctors and caregivers;
- Optimization of the therapy;
- Prevention/early treatment of worsening/exacerbation of heart failure.
BV TECH is responsible for the development of the prototype of the telemetry technological platform that is used to collect data from biomedical devices installed on patients and to provide a single view of the measurements, parameters and events collected.
