Multifunction Assistant for liTtle kids and the Elderly
The main objectives of the MATE project are the design, creation, testing and validation of an intelligent multi-purpose wearable band, that is remotely programmed, to support the needs of daily life of vulnerable groups of the population (elderly, children, and sick people).
Specifically, the project involves the development, prototyping and related testing of a new product made up of two macro components: a wearable band and a control platform.

Intelligent and continuous assistance
Achieving the project objectives requires the development of a specific hardware and software system for the prototyping of a wearable band capable of guaranteeing continuous assistance to the end user and reducing user-band interaction to a minimum.
The wearable band will support, among others, the following features:
- Activation of recorded and programmable voice messages;
- Geo localization of the user;
- Sending alarms in case of departure from pre-established safe areas (Geo Fence);
- Facilitated sending of alarms and requests for help;
- Remote configuration and programming;
- Analysis and recording of critical events and physiological parameters;
- Guide to the execution of tasks for the reactivation of cognitive rehabilitation processes.
The wearable band system will be associated with a control platform consisting of a dedicated supervision application and an application for mobile devices which constitutes the personal user interface for controlling the strap.
As part of the project, PROGESI is responsible for the design and prototyping of the control platform and for the verification and operation of the complete integrated system.
